The Acoustic Guitar Classics Story
One Friday night I (Peter Pupping) was scheduled to perform at the Roxy in Encinitas, California. This popular Encinitas health food restaurant featured instrumental guitar regularly and a number of San Diego guitarists performed there regularly. On this particular Friday night I was just about to start playing and in walks one of my college mates, guitar in hand. We knew each other from out masters of music program but hadn't played together/ It was Fred Benedetti. We had both been booked that night accidentally and the owner was happy about the error. He said “my mistake, how about both of you performing together?” That’s how it started and I’ve had the honor of working with an extraordinary colleague ever since. That night both of us trained classical guitarists hit it off on performing some of our favorite pop/rock tunes. We liked it so much that it became a 10 year recording project with 4 volumes of Acoutic Guitar Classic Hits and a Beatles compilation.
